Yaris Hybrid 2020 TNGA - Hybrid System Malfunction
Plissken72 replied to Satsuki's topic in Yaris & Yaris Cross Club
My Yaris MK4 hybrid system failed a couple of weeks ago, the dash lit up like a Christmas tree and I managed to limp it back to the local dealer. Having read the forum regarding this issue I thought I was in for the long haul but after just over a week the car was ready to pick up, having had a new damper installed and I have to say it feels better (tighter) and more responsive. Thankyou Toyota and thankyou RRG Huddersfield for your prompt assistance, my faith in Toyota which had been slightly dented, has been fully restored. -

Found a company called Noise Killer Group (close to Manchester) that offer that service https://www.nkgroup.co.uk/product/car-soundproofing-full-kit-no-engine-blanket/ I had my 2023 Touring Sports Gr 1.8 fitted (£425 in total). They used my car to prepare templates for other TS owners, if you are interested in fitting it yourself. The internal acoustics have been massively improved. Note that they won't soundproof your doors - but provide you with some material to do so yourself. I haven't done that yet. The noise from outside has only been reduced a little so far. I assume that's due to the doors not having been done and issues others describe in this thread and elsewhere (GR has noisy tyres, 1.8 doesn't have the acoustic windows fitted, etc). Photos attached from the NK fitting, before and after (shocking how little had been added by Toyota). Having the speakers replaced soon and the doors soundproofed at the same time 🤞

But subject to the same errors with tyre size as the onboard calculations unless you are using google maps or GPS to give you the distances. 🙂

Money would be better spent fitting a device that stopped them pulling out in front and blocking the road in order to get half a meter closer to a bin. They are, without exception, streets worse than any other vehicle on the road. -
That is almost exactly the average that the memsahib gets in her X. That is verified by tank-to-tank calculations. The fuel figures from the car are, AFAICT, pretty accurate.

I sometimes give lifts to hitchhikers carrying trade plates. I once picked up a guy near Falkirk and dropped him at Knutsford servcies - he'd been delivering a new refuse truck to Falkirk Council from Birmingham. he said it had been fitted with a speed regulator maxed at 40mph - all the way up the M6 & M74. 😬 -

Sure you would have to drop to 50 profile to keep the rolling radius of the tyre the same. -
It is so good when posters can’t be bothered to follow up their queries! Why bother asking something?

I can save you the bother with that: they already know. I reported exactly that at least half a dozen times when trying to purchase the 3yr Map Support pack a few months ago. Getting the form to submit is not the problem. The problem is on the back-end when processing the submitted data as it just generates an error saying that there is a problem and to try again later. I still l have all of the emails to and from cr@toyota... and I gave up in the end as I was getting nowhere and you can only bang your head against a wall so many times before you get a headache. The MyToyota app is broken too, or at least the iPhone version is... but that's a different thread.

It can also depend on your tyres and how much you over- or under-inflate them, as the distrance is calculated from the number of rotations of one of the driving wheels or rotations of the final drive at the gearbox (depending on car). For the same tyre specs on my Mazda I noticed a difference of about 5 miles over the same 250-mile journey between my winter and summer tyres. That 2% difference in miles would also account for a difference in mpg if everything else was the same.

Mine was set like that from new by the dealer.

They seem to be opimistic on possibly all cars, deffinitly most cars pretty much. My 2014 Auris Hybris is about 1.5 to 2 mpg optimistic, my Gen 2 Prius was about 2 to 3, I had a Skoda Octavia Diesel, that was around 5 or 6 and a Honda Accord 2.0 petrol was only about 1 mpg optimistic

Yes, I’d never give anyone a lift whose carrying a chainsaw… -
Same mine..

Does anyone know how accurate the average MPG given in the trip computer are. I have had my MK2 64 plate for a month which started with only 30000 miles on the clock. I have driven about 2000 miles since (delivering) and have averaged 53.3mpg. My previous 1.0 Yaris with 160000 miles averaged a little better but I always felt the numbers were a little optimistic.

@flash22, I mean the key voice button on the steering wheel... which is the PIN number in the plug on the multiradio.

I do the same too mate but I stopped using the sponge and bucket because I was getting back and knee problems. I switched it out for one of those poles that all the window cleaners use these days AND OMG I wish I had done it sooner, I can get my car looking squeaky clean in only a couple minutes. No chemicals needed just water. I was concerned the brush would scratch the paintwork but so far absolutely no problems. I got mine from https://wfp.co.uk/collections/window-cleaning-equipment but they sell them everywhere, ebay, amazon, your local cleaning stores and you can get some for very cheap just shop around.

It's very doubtful that you would notice any difference in handling. Sidewall height: 205/55 = 4.4" 215/55 = 4.7" So, you would gain only three tenths of one inch by fitting the 215/55. If you want a more comfortable ride, fitting a 15" wheel would give you a higher sidewall, but if you want "...improved handling/cornering..." i.e. less tyre roll, sharper cornering, then you should be looking at fitting a 17" tyre and wheel package which would give you a lower sidewall, but you would probably find the ride quality more harsh. https://tiresize.com/tyre-size-calculator/ -

People lie. I'd really like to trust strangers, but experience says that's a really bad idea. Because a quick buck trumps being honest every day of the week. There are honest people out there, but the chances of any given advertiser being one is not worth the risk. Assume the worst - hope to be wrong. - Yesterday

This one says the bumper was damaged that was it .so that's not that bad really but still it's REGed as a CAT . .as it's his 1st car (my son) I don't want to buy a CAT S and him not get insurance.. -

They are a bit like the truth, rare but they are out there, que X files intro 🎵. Trouble is with written off cars,is they will always be re built written off cars, it's on the V5. Cat s,n or any other kind of cat, trouble with insurance yes, and if you are hesitant to buy one, so will everyone else in the future. Easy to spot on flea bay, eye catching price for the year/mileage, then bam yep it's a rebuilt write off.
