I'm afraid not on a RAV the age of yours. Don't bother with Haynes manuals.

Hi
Thanks . I do live in Namibia ( Africa) and here there are so many of these "0ld" models. They shipping second hand Rav4's by the hundreds from Japan into Africa. As a matyter of fact a 10 year "old" car here is normal . We have some guys driving Landrovers that are 50 years old and still going strong .
But I still appreciate if anybody can direct me to a site or link or bookshop where I can find some info regarding the gearbox and transfer case. My rav is still going strong but I might need it in future .
Thanks and have a nice day

You may be able to buy them from a Toyota main dealer but they will be expensive. The gearbox and transfer unit are very conventional so anyone with any experience in gearbox overhaul won't be intimidated by stripping it down on an ad-hoc basis.
