Had something sharp rip an unrepairable hole in one of my front tyres (original Yoko Geolandars, 225/65R17, I believe). Local tyre place reckoned there's only about a thousand miles left in it anyway, but they've only done 12K miles from new. That seems rather poor durability to me - what are others getting?

The rears have a bit more meat on them, so I'll probably buy a single replacement Yoko to pair with the spare and keep the remaining front one as the spare. What do folk here recommend for the RAV generally? I'd be looking for good wear without compromising safety unduly, not too bothered about extra road noise. I don't really use it off-road, but something with a bit of bite in snow would be handy.

Same tyres - 17.75K from new, just getting to wear indicators on front, rears a little more to go before indicators reach surface.
Driving mostly on pretty ropey country lanes and some dual carriageway/motorway every now and then.
