Hi all,
Just thought I would let you know that Toyota have discontinued the T Spirit & SR180 models.
They disappeared off the website today and will no longer be available to order.
All currently pending orders "should" still be honoured and there is no news as to what will replace them yet. I am guessing a new 2010 model as seen in the news recently.
I will post more if I find out.

or it could be to do with updating as the sr180 no longer has auto lights and wipers and electrochomatic rear view mirror. AFAIK we're still making them

Had a word with my dealer and the Customer Services team for the Toyota website. Took them a while but they have confirmed that they are no longer available to order.
Some thing to do with 80 % of all Auris ordered being T2's or TR's?
Just posting what's been said to me by Toyota.
I thought that Sr180 has been without the extras you mentioned for a while? It doesn’t have those things in a colour brochure I have printed in June 2009?
PS I have a T Spirit on order with them now!

The good thing here is that T180 / SR180 owners cars will hold their value better as these will be more wanted 2nd hand etc, it does make you wonder if the MPG results is one of the reasons this model has been dropped?

Hi Graham and guys,
Happy Birthday Graham!
Ref the demise of the T180 and SR180, I was "surfing" tonight (actually looking for a soundproofing kit for my SR180), when I came across a website re the "new" Auris.
Thought you might like to take a peek!!

I also agree, that current owners of the T & SR180's may well find a slow down in depreciation, we can only hope!!
Thanks Guys

Looks like I have one of the last SR180s. Bought mine 3 nonths ago but took delivery only three weeks. Went for the dark gray and it looks the dogs. Round town, the car is a bit heavy on fuel but get it on the motorway and it just comes alive. Who cares about fuel economy when a car makes you feel that good.
The fact that they have stopped making the SR180 brand just makes the car more exclusive than it already was. It seemed to be Toyotas best kept secret. I am proud to own my SR180 infact just been and brought my misses a Yaris 1.8 SR (it is like attaching a jet engine to a shopping trolly).I am that impressed, and so is she now, performance, good looks, and build quality, what more does any motorist want ( apart from a page 3 stunner and a job as chief tester at Stella).
A friend has just brought a Lexus 220d, but when I explained to him that the SR180 I had brought had in essence the same engine but with a bigger top end and turbo, he was absolutly gutted. A car that weight appx half a tonne less with more power.
I have even found myself not driving so fast because that little red badge on the back means I dont have to prove anything to any prospective boyracer, and I want people be able to look and admire when I pass, not just see a blur.
It is a sad day, but with a limited run, it will only make the car more exclusive and sought in years to come, and that is a great bargining tool when you come to sell the car (not that I ever will).

Very true but I have found the T180 Which we have has more spec than the SR180 due to
1. keyless entry
2. sunroof
3. autolights and wipers
4. fading rear view mirror
there might be a few more but all I can say the SR180 got as standard what the T180 did not get is a rear spoiler and tints + the suspension is 5mm lower but we did get the built in sat nav in our T180 as below.

Hi Guys,
My 57 plate White SR180 has the following as standard
1. Keyless entry
2. Stop/Start
3. Sunroof
4. Autolights and wipers
5. Auto rear view mirror
In addition, a full Toyota body kit.
And, following my inital concerns ref MPG, it has now covered 15000 miles and is averaging 43.6mpg. So I am happier now!
The road noise is still a pain, but as mentioned previously, I am looking to fit additional soundproofing kit.
I have to agree with Paddylad, the car does look the Dogs B*ll*cks with the body kit and matching white wheels (imo).
Cheers

Sounds like you've got one of the few SR180's which were really T180's before, but rebadged and given the tints and suspension etc of the normal SR180s.
It's a shame the SR180 is going... I can only hope this is for one of two reasons
1) It's being replaced with a turbo 1.8 dual VVT I or a 2.4 dual vvti (I wish)
2) Toyota are continuing to lower their average emissions for all their cars across the range... making way for the FT-86/TRD/Performance cars in a couple of years.
Either would make me incredibly happy

i love my t180, i got one of the first ones back in the summer of 2007 (july) and will be sad to see it go this summer with the end of the 3 year contract hire deal that is on it. I may be staying with toyota to get a hilux 3.0 diesel, but i am also considering a skoda octavia vrs dsg petrol. Only time will tell what car i go for. My T180 has only done 9500 miles so far which is a tiny mileage for it being 2.5 years old so it will probably be very sort after when it goes back. Many people have gripes with the fuel consumption of this car but its 180 or 183 hp and 400nm of torque, what more do u want? of course its going to be slightly heavy on diesel for this power return. The only gripe i have with the car is the noise from the engine sometimes when accelerating, i dont like the clatter you can hear sometimes, i just want a solid grunt. Other than that, its a solid cruiser

Hi Rick,
I guess you are right, when in Mr T's last week sorting out my bluetooth issue, the Business Manager who dealt with me when I got the car, asked if I would consider "changing" it for??? an 09 Plate SR180, it did not have the "goodies" mine has, so, yes, I do feel quite pleased that I have an Sr with the toys!!
Oh, nearly forgot, no, I did'nt take up his offer!
Best wishes
Paul

I really like my t180 too - no surprise it got dropped.
Most people are buying smaller more economical cars these days.
I will be keeping mine until the ft-86 is released

Hi
I'm sure the discontinuation of the T Spirit/SR 180 variants is due to the introduction of the 2010 face-lifted Auris & the need to re-configure production at Burnaston. I'm sure these variants (or their better equivalents) will be available again sometime during 2010 (see link below)
Hope this helps
Phil
