I recently went to my local dealer to buy oil filters for my 1997 4Runner (4 Cylinder 4WD) and he sold me a filter that has a different part number than the filters I've been using. He's says it's ok.

My current filter is:90915-YZZB1

He wants me to use: 90915-YZZD1

The dealer's filter is longer and has a different hole configuration.

Should I use the new filter?

Is anyone able to answer him? The same thing happened to me today, at the Edmonton dealership. The new filter they put into my 99 Camry was a 90915-YZZD1. For the last 5 years they always used a 90915-YZZB1. How are they different? You can e-mail me at
