Hi, I'm looking to buy a used Land Cruiser somewhere in the '95-'98 range. Can someone tell me at what mileage the factory recommends the major maintenance items like the timing belt, etc?

Also, any advice or comments on those years would be appreciated. :)

acf hi mate

Are you after an Colorado model or the Amazon.

I bought my Colorado last July with 69000 miles on it and that had the 70K service done and the cam belt was changed @ 59K.

Wait for the right one it took me just over a year to get mine.

Also reading up on the Landcruiser roughly @ 60K the rear disc get warpped and again they were changed on mine before I bought it.

Hope you get one soon, it's the first 4x4 I have owned and hopefully my next one will be an LC5 3.0 D4D VX.

I think oil is about every 6K miles and a service about every 10K.

Thanks for the reply, Ash. B)

Pardon my ignorance but I'm not sure of the difference b/w Colorado or Amazon? Is that only a UK thing?

All the ones I'm looking at have at least 80k miles so I hope those services/repairs have been done.

What year is yours?

The Colorado is a 3.0TD and the Amazon is I think a 4.2 TD

Mine is a 1997 on a P

Ahhh, it is a "UK" thing. B) Where do you live?

Ours in the US don't have diesel engines. I'm actually in negotiations as we speak on a '97 as well. Its got a 4.5L 6 cylinder unleaded gas engine though. :D
