Hi
Can any one help? I just a used car.
My car is 97 Carina E with 7A-FE engine. There is this sudden loss of power after driving for about 30 mins. My mechanics advised me to change the plugs but the problem is still there. If the speed is low then the engine wants to go off unless I put it to first gear. Sometimes the jerking is so serious you think it is a vibrator.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi
How long since it had a good service. I think you should change the fuel filter with a new one, and put some injecter cleaner in your fuel tank. You should use some engine flush when doing a oil change to get rid of any deposits left, and dont forget to change the oil filter with a new one. Use some good oil and keep to the service limit, Like do a service every 10,000 miles or so to keep the engine working nicely.

The original question was asked 3 YEARS AGO......................I would think that the problem should have either been solved or gone away by now rolleyes.gif

I have had this problem with my 95 Camry. It will loose power after a while, most often when changing from highway driving to slowing for a light. It will start right back up as if nothing happened. I've had new spark plugs, a new battery as of a few days ago. The mechanic said he can't do anything unless he sees it happen. I'd be interested if anybody else had the problem or knew of what worked or what to check for. The mechanic thinks it may be a computer problem????

If its still happening, tie the mechanic to the front bumper!

Some problems just never go away..........I've had a Trafic minibus on lpg for 5 years and it just keeps on burnming up head gaskets and spitting back. I'll get my own back though by scrapping it! laugh.gif laugh.gif
