Hi folks,

Does anyone else have a problem with a leaking sunroof on their Rav Mk2?

Mine is a 2002 5 door, everytime I drive it after it has been raining, I get a few drops of water coming down when I drive off. It's not a full-on leak, no sign of wetness when I get in the car, just seems like some water settles somewhere in the roof mechanism, but then gets dislodged when I drive off and drops on the passenger seat (or me!)

Not a major drama, and as the car has some warranty left, I'll try and get it sorted that way, was just interested to know if this is a common problem?

Cheers,

Ali

Before i bought my 2004 RAV4 i asked a member on here (who works for a toyota dealer , as a manager) what to look for when buying one, answer was oxygen sensors in kat and leaking sunroof seals, so if its out of warranty it could be a trip to the dealer :( .

You can reseal them by running some sealant around the edge of the rubber that runs around the glass

Well look at that ...just the manager i was talking about ....okay Shutty :D  .

Open roof and ckeck drain holes not blocked as this allows water to gather in recess. External seal is not 100% water tight (by design).

It isnt weater tight by design but its not designed to leak between the deal and the glass into the frame of the sunroof and then leak out into the headlining

Common issue im affraid,
