Hi Folks
I have had my 2005 Rav 4 Granite from new for 1 year, about 12000 miles, really a great car, enjoyable to drive.
I had the rear door(Stupid openining) converted, thanks to sparkydog I have also had a rear step and front nudge bars fitted by main dealer expensive but it does look great.
The rear shelf is a pain in the head when it falls down but I can live with that. :ffs:
I have noticed that the reverse gear is sometimes hard to get into gear, after the car has been left parked anyone else experienced that ?
XT2
No... not yet

No problems at the mo.

Finally got round to solve the falling parcel shelf . Two bits of 8mm thick plastic cut and drilled to shape .See enclosed photos . [/img]

Hi,

Mine's a '55 reg D4D with only 800 miles. I sometimes find getting into reverse gear difficult first thing in the morning.

My gears are sometimes stiff in the morning but once the oil gets warm they are fine.... Never had any problems with them....and mine has done 51K. Had oil changed at last service in gearbox as well....

I've noticed that the gears can be a bit clunky first thing, but seem to smooth out once the car has warmed up.

Yet to have a problem finding reverse, though my wife has developed a habit of pulling away in third.....

Hi,
I have just bought a 2001 rav and have the same problem.

Many moons ago I had an Austin Meastro (wont buy one again!) with a gearbox that every gear was difficult to engage.
I added Molyslip and hey presto! it was fixed.

Not sure if Molyslip is still available?
