i've got a hilux surf, jap import and it doesn't have a stereo, all it has is a big gaping hole. can anyone suggest to me where i might get a fitting that will reduce the hole size to fit a normal car stereo or any other suggestion that i can fit some audio equipment?

item no.330131699143 on ebay , you will also require 2 mounting brackets from toyota cost about 15 quid a pair , then you'll need a head unit .

i have the old radio cassette with mounting brackets if you wanna offer me something . comes with band expander. genuine toyota radio cassette.

so the item on ebay, the black box looking thing, you put that in and then the head unit fits or sits on top of it? cause it doesn't look very big. i've attached a link to a picture of the facade i have

the sony item you showed, did that fit in without any other bits needed? and the toyota stereo you have will this fit in the hole as shown?

with a single din on top of that box it will fill the hole . the radio cassette i have came from a 1995 ssrx with 9500 miles on it , so very little usage. Yes the sony unit fits the hole , all toyota din units are a near exact size .

There is not much point in putting a single 1 din size radio in if you have the space for a double din, because you get so much more for your money with a 2 din. You can expect to pay between £60 - 90 for a double unit that is a DVD/CD/VCD/AVI/WMA/MPEG4 player, 7 " screen , TV receiver , mp3 input , SD/MMC card input , remote control and touch screen.
