Full Version: Where Can I Tap Into The Vsp Signal
Toyota Owners Club - Toyota Forum > Toyota Forums > Rav 4 Club
Hoovie
Hi Guys - think I may have bought the wrong model of RAV4! Looking at Leather Seats and now gonna fit a Cruise Control :D

One of the things that I need to know is where I can tap into the VSP signal. I am guessing there is a couple of places and would ideally like the one that does not involve getting behind instrument panel.

To confirm, Model is a RAV4 2005 (so 4.2 'facelift') VVT-i Manual.

TIA,

Hoovie :)

@hoovie,

you will find that on the 18 pin radio connector (the biggest one), the speed pulse is on pin 16.

have a look at my Website you will find a TNS200 install doc. page 19 will give you some info.

i have used this connection for my Kenwood KCA-G520 and was working fine.

have fun,
bt

Ah - that is nice and simple :)

Makes sense there should be one there as the On-Board computer has an Ave Speed function

I had to pick up the VSP (Honda term) last time for their Sat -Nav unit I installed in my HR-V. Thanks for the link

Any tips on how to retreive the 10mm bolts that secure it in place when they fall down?? I am down to my last two :(
anchorman
Have you got a dash full of bolts???

Put some blu tac inside the socket and pull your tonque out - slightly to one side like Shaun the sheep does.

i release those bolds and use long pillars to remove them. this works fine. so my tools box for this job is.

allen key
long socket
long pillars

thats all :)

oh, yeah a steady hand.

Try magnetising your socket, ie stick it to a magnet a couple of hours before using it.
