Hi guys .....n'girls, :)

My buddy and i are just beginning a new project. we have got our hands on a 94 3ltr twin turbo auto, it is just coming back from the panel shop. we are going to convert it to manual for obvious reasons..... We are wondering if an is200 gearbox will fit?? as an is300 is a 2jz-ge, but we are not sure if the 200 and 300 share bellhousings, flywheels, clutches etc....

No, is200 gearbox will not fit straight on without a LOT of messing about and even if it did it would explode with the torqure of a 2JZ.

As well as the gearbox you'll need to change the diff and the driveshafts, i think you may need to also change the prop.

the is200's 1g-fe shares nothing with the is300's 2jz-ge.

to convert a mk4 supra to manual there are 3 real gearbox choices.

1 - V160 Getrag, will cost you about a grand but its the proper gearbox for the job

2 - W58, this is the 5 speed non turbo mk4 box. fits straight on the turbo engine but will wear out quickly above 350bhp.

3 - R154, mk3 supra turbo/soarer turbo gearbox. with the 1jzgte soarer bellhousing this will allow the r154 to go straight onto the 2jz. also the R154 is the strongest of the three i've mentioned. i used this gearbox on the 4.0 V8 1UZ-FE when i transplanted it into a mk2 supra.

if you go R154 let me know, i have a brand new genuine toyota release bearing which i can let you have cheap. perfect to put the r154 onto a 2jz.
