Hi guys

I have a 53plate LC4 D4d Auto. It's having an MOT done tomorrow. THe rear tyres look very good, as does the spare. The front ones (to me) look fine, at least the inside (centre of tyre) does. THe outer edges look a bit worn/smooth. But this is only compared to the rear. In themselves, they look fine. Though, my car isn't handling to well - but then I suppose going 40 around a roundabout is a bit nuts. At 20-30mph it is fine. As a human being, I need an MOT as well too, so I might just be a bit paranoid!

IF the MOT people moan, what size tyre would best suit my Landcruiser? I looked at the spare and it said 265 65 R17. What is a good price range for similar, suitable tyres? (Remembering credit crunch wink.gif )

Now, my car is also having a 70 000 mile service done tomorrow, having them look at various things. It had a 58 000 mile service done before I got it and haven't quite driven 10000 yet, but it is a year since I got it.

* My safety belts need tensioning at the rear. Can I do this myself?
* My A/C light flashed a few times when it was snowing but OK now. Is this a worry?
* My A/C blows warm air out, unless I set it to MAX COLD. Is it just because temperatures in the UK are normally so low that even at 16 it feels warm?
* The rear passenger door's little knobby sensor thing that sees when the door is open or shut doesn't work. If you open it and leave it open, that car doesn't know it's been opened and the alarm goes off.
* My 12volt accessory sockets don't work (Haven't checked the fuse box) couldd itjust be that simple?
* And then my car's fuel economy is quite poor. I i can get about 4100 miles from a full tank (89 litres) before my courage leaves me. That leaves around 10 litres of diesel in the tank. Is this OK?
* Then, my brakes don't feel good. There's a clank sound when I drive parking speeds and engage reverese for instance and release or engage the brake. I suspect I am being paranoid!

I should really have asked these questions sooner - as opposed to the day before the service! But I am not keen to help Toyota's profits recover, as my OWN profits will suffer. WIll this be an expensive trip?

I was quoted 340 for the MOT and £289 for the service incl consumables etc.

Hello,

I put on 265 x 70 x R17 BF Goodrich All Terrains.

Not the cheapest I know, but will damn well last the longest !!

I expect minimum 60,000 miles.
