dear members,
i recently bought my second 1995 4afe corolla manual.
i have a turbo kit ready for it (tdo4+down pipe & everything)
i want to know, with an AEM engine management, do i need to "open" the engine and replace the rings,Connecting Rod,pitons and etc in order to drive safely without worrying the engine dropping dead on me.
i was told i can drive without touching the engine's components in about 0.7 psi but i want to drive faster and boost 1.0 and more without worries.
thank you for your replies.

and i'm soory the topic's name is Turbocharged 4afe

TBH you would be better rebuilding the engine with forged pistons and rods as a bare minimum. i would also look at lowering the compression ratio as well.
the engines life will be reduced at 0.7bar any way. also check there is suficient fueling for the intended boost.
