Gwynley
Hi All

Thought I would introduce myself - I'm Gwyn and I have a Landcruiser addiction. I have only had it for about a year, but it seems to be making me spend lots of money!

Last year I bought a 1989 HJ60 diesel - after a bit of fun over last summer I took it off the road with the aim of rebuilding the Landcruiser for a Overland trip from London to Cape Town.

This is my website; www.overlandinthesun.com and below is a little summary of the work so far!

Landcruiser pre-rebuild (notice suitable number plate!)

As with many HJ60's now it needed a fair amount of welding - but the frame was solid.

Then after removing the axles I finshed of the bodywork (outside in North Wales obviously!)

and painted the frame

Then I set about taking apart the axles and painting and rebuilding them;

With lots of parts from Jemca Toyota in London

And the knuckle job front..

I also took the time to install a pair of Aussie automatic differential Lokka's

Which were part of my large consignment of parts from Australia!

Snorkal;

195litre Long range diesel tank;

Heavy duty suspension;

and dual spare wheel carriers (not fitted properly yet!)

I'll update this thread as I go.. fair amount of work to go before our leaving date in September!
