Had from new a 57 plate Verso T180.
Great car for the family if only it spent less time at the dealers having repeated faults fixed.
Has anyone had a similar experience or advice? Dealer seems to struggle at times.
Summary
Now having its 3rd turbo repair, the latest one having lasted 2 months. Makes the car dangerous to drive for the first couple of miles from cold.
Clouds of white diesel smoke on pulling away from sitting in traffic. Averaging 35mpg on long runs which seems poor for a diesel.
Brake disks (replaced once)
Easily chipped paint work - nose of the car particulary bad
Low speed rumble from near side suspension/wheel bearing - under investigation at the dealer
A lot of the above I note have been discussed on other topics, interested mainly on the turbo failure experiences on a T180 engine

The T180 seems to give quite poor fuel consumption in any vehicle it is fitted to. A colleagues Lexus 220D gave the same 35 MPG figure. What is failing with the turbo's?

Dealer & Toyota never really tracked down the problems, thus the repeated trips to the dealer. Currently having its head gasket replaced; apparently not uncommon for these to go at the mileage - off the road for over a week again.

Add new set of diesel injectors
A head gasket replacement
2 shock absorbers to the list
At least I now have it back in 1 piece again.

Glad you got it back... how many miles has it done? I hope all the bits were under warantey
