Servicing A Diesel Avensis With Over 100k

Hello chaps,

My beloved Avensis (2.0D4D - 2005) is coming up to 100k on the clock. As it is now in the hundred thousands, should I be thinking about changing my service intervals?

I will have a major service carried out at 100K. I have also been giving it a full service every 12000 miles/1 year. Is this still sufficient for a car with higher miles. A friend suggested that I drop the oil every 6 months and still get a full service every year.

Be interested to hear what you think. I know modern engines are a different ball game now so maybe I don't need to worry too much. However, I'd like relatively hassle free driving for at least another year so would like to minimise the risk.

Thanks

Mac

hello mightymac

you're too much concerned, as i deem.

whether or not you have a problems with engine performance/fuel + oil consumption?

any leaks of oil or coolant or refrigerant?

in case you are at the crossroads, then firstly have the compression rate values measured in each cylinder to evaluate condition of each one.

i do not see any problems by 100k on the clock. It's understood some liquids are subjected to renewing by this milage etc.

Cheers/Igor

Thanks Igor,

No problems with oil consumption and no apparent leaks. Maybe I am being over the top, but better safe than sorry!

no worries then.

keep good and scheduled maintenance and check with compression rates + injectors, because all the problems are began fromo a bad feeding :)

Good luck/Igor
