Dashboard: Anyone Tried Vinyl Dye.........?

on an Avensis.

I find that huge black expanse of vinyl rather imposing. I waas thinking of either changing it to grey

or breaking up the black with grey on the centre console.

The other thing that bugs me is the rather garish orange instrumentation lighting, can that be changed?

I've never worked with it myself but I've read that vinyl dye has strong fumes/odour - if that's the case you're probably better off with dying/replacing the centre console part as it's removable (on the Avensis mark 1, anyway).

I've got a 2004 model, is the centre console easy to remove on those?
