Repair Shop Costs

I bought a Carina E Solair ES two weeks ago- as part of the warrantee I had to get the car serviced to make this warrantee valid, I took it to a workshop in Worcester- not the Toyota Main dealer, I had a Timing belt fitted cost -Belt £18+ £98 + VAT + A Big service £190 + VAT it came to £348- fair enough the main dealer quote was £460! so I saved a bit-but when I checked around the car after the service I noticed the radiator was leaking and the fins are in a terrible state :ffs: so I went back to the servicing garage to find out how it was missed the answer "You must have had a better look round than us" they priced up a replacement radiator £150 + £44 labour + VAT. I went back to the dealer I bought the car from- two weeks ago and they are going to put in a new radiator but I will have to contribute a £100 to the cost, I checked with the OOFT and they said to settle for this or enter a minefield of legal costs. I have been buying cars all my life since passing my test in 1952 this is the worst purchase I made- I hope the car is going to be ok  cheers Jim

No worries - that's what we're here for. Kevin was the one who did my engine conversion for me. He's an independent Toyota specialist - been doing it for 15+ years and knows what he's doing.
