Hi

Im new on the forum and wonder if anyone can help unfold this problem.

Im blessed with failures at the moment here goes

The clutch was replaced in the car and some days later

i was driving along and had to brake sharply, some minutes later the car cuts out with no

warning the fuel gauge needle moves erratically.Immediately you turn the key again the car starts and runs perfectly however whether ticking over or at higher revs the car randomly cut out.

Today went to start the car to hear a vibration from the gloplug relay obviously the glowplug light doesnt come on the dashboard

however turn the key further nothing, the starter motor doesnt turn on inspecting the wiring loom the oil warning sensor connector had been disconnected due to it overheating

any suggestions of the problem other than sell the car.

thanks

dave

Hi Dave, sounds like an electrical fault to me, first check the Battery terminals for security then the heavy cables connected to the starter motor solenoid. It could also be a short circuit somewhere, have a good check round all the wiring. It is always difficult to trace this type of fault sat at a PC so start with the simple things first as suggested and take it from there. The connections i have suggested will/may have been removed to do the clutch job, let us know how you get on.

Regards .... Pete.
