Has anyone got a new Yaris with the optional tech pack.

My question is can you store phone numbers within the hands free, or can it only link to the phone?

I recently purchased a T spirit version, which comes with the audio-in jack/blue-tooth as standard.

The system has its own phone-book, which allows you to add entries manually or transfer from phone.

So, in short, the system can store names and numbers on its own. (However, I am not sure if the tech pack is exactly some).

Thanks for the info, as our phones (iPhones) will not transfer induvidual numbers, it looks like I am stuck manually inputting numbers when we get the car.

If you have any "old phones" in the kitchen drawer or can borrow some friends different phones, then you can try to do what I successfully did on my Yaris SR Nav.

Some phones have the capability to transfer address books and some not. On the TomTom unit fitted to the SR Nav, there's a compatability list on Tomtom's web site that shows what features work with which phones but as yours is a different device, you're going to just hav to go by trial and error (unless it tells you in the manual).

On mine, Sony Erricson's are the most compatible, Nokia's next and Samsung & LG least...

Anywayfirst thing to do is make sure that your contacts are on your sim card and not on the iPhone handset. On my HTC TYTN, there's a utility to copy phone contacts to the sim card.... Other phones have options to copy contacts within their own menus.

Then simply swap the sim card to a different model of phone, pair that other phone up with the bluetooth car system and see if that phone allows contacts to be copied. If it does, copy the contacts over, then put the sim card back into your iPhone for daily use...

If it doesn't work, try a different handset and repeat until you find a handset that does allow you to copy the contacts.

Once you know which handset works, you're a step ahead for next time....

Thanks for that hint Alfiejts, I forgot about that method. All the old phones we have are 3 network locked and we are now both on O2 so we can't sim swap.

The tech pack bluetooth is the SWC aftermarket one that uses the LHS steering wheel controls rather than the one std on a T Spirit that has phone controls on the RHS of the steering wheel. If it is fitted after build it explains why it is not available on cars with the optional safety pack as they have to take off the windscreen pillars (could cause problems with the curtain bags). From looking at the instructions you cannot total address book dump, you can only transfer one by one taking either the number from the phone or speaking the number to the device.
