Which Alloys?

Hi guys, going to be upgrading my standard alloys for 17s or 18s and would appreciate some ideas as unsure what would like best? Here is a pic of my baby... Was thinking of chrome but then been advised against because of how the cold/winter can damage them. Any ideas on what would compliment the car? A piece of my mothers christmas cake is on offer to the best idea/advice :P
