D-4d Engine Obdii Compliant?

Could anyone tell me if a 2003 2.0 D-4D Toyota Corolla would be a OBDII compliant as I am thinking of getting a scanner to read the Mil fault codes.

The MIL came on a few weeks ago but went out when I disconnected the Battery and reconnected. Since then however I seem to be getting lower fuel consumption.

Anyone?

I KNOW that the 2003 RAV4 is NOT compliant, so I doubt the Corolla is. But I heard somewhere that all the newer diesel models from Toyota are compliant, so the facelifted corolla should be. I know for a fact that the facelift RAV4 became OBD2 compliant...

You should talk with your dealer and ask if your corolla is compliant.

Should be, 2001 onwards for petrol and 03 for Diesel. I !Removed! hope so as part of the justification of buying my new T-Sport was for my final year project building a obd reader!

My 53 plate 2.0 D-4D Corolla is. I have a U581 scanner which works well - give the description as well as the code number.

I've got a 2003 RAV4 Diesel which has an OBDII plug in the drivers footwell. However, I bought a Maxiscan OBDII reader and it doesn't work. Now I read that this car didn't go OBDII until 2004.

So is this OBD1? And if so, what scanner can read it?

I ask because my car keeps going into 'safe' mode (2-3 times a week), and it's becoming a pain.
