Auris Brakes Rusting After 2 Years?

If you want to drive a car from the 50's or even the 60's then crack on. The rest of us like our modern cars for their safety, comfort, economy, reliability, helpful features, etc. What I can't be bothered with are things like cruise control - useless in areas with no motorways or dual carriageways, plus these silly lane departure warning systems - how about staying awake & aware at the wheel ? Don't get me started on automatic headlights ! If you're stupid enough to leave your lights off when it's getting obviously dark, then you shouldn't be on the road.

Apologies to the original poster for going off topic ! Rusty brakes after 2 years are all too common - depends on many things ; type of use, quality of fitted parts, local weather conditions (like humidity levels) & of course maintenance. A car left in a seashore garage with less than 5k mls annual use could easily rust it's brakes in less than 2 years. Add in factors like salt on the road during the Winter and ......
