Recall Fix Today

Hello

My Yaris went in for the pedal fix today.

No problem, returned to collect the car and it had been washed into the bargain. One little or rather...two little suprises!

On picking up my keys I was advised that they had done "the steering and seatbelt recalls too" . I wasn't aware of these and had never been advised about them.

Can anyone advise when these recalls were announced and what the issues were?

I thought that there had been a recall for the rear seat belts which had been done but I am not so sure now!

The pedal feels fine, no different from before in fact.

ps the words "steering recall" are written on the safety report from Mr T but there is nothing on the VOSA site about this!!

Has no one else heard of this then?

I will call the dealer today and ask what they did and why.

Hi Mick.

i saw those recalls about the seatbeltson the VOSA site. Quite disappointing that I din't hear from Toyota about it.

The steering thing is a bit of a mystery as I can't see any mention of a recall for steering anywhere. It would hard to imagine a recall for steering that wouldn't be safety related so surprised that it isn't on the VOSA site.

I haven't called the dealer yet to ask them what this was so maybe they will clear it up.

It transpires that this is a dealer fix for a securing bracket on the steering column. I have been advised that it is not safety related.

If you have any concerns call your dealer. I was told by my dealer that steering column could drop if it were adjusted violently.....doesn't make any sense to me either!

Any slight wandering sensation I thought I experienced must have been me rather than the car!
