When turning on the engine on a cold day where does your engine initially idle at? and where does it idle at once it is warm?

(and what is the acceptable rev range for cold start and warm?)

12-1500 when cold, then about 900 warmed up.

Or if the K&N has it's say, about everywhere.

as above on a real cold day on a true morning start it does idle at about 1500 rpm for a min or so slowly dropping as it warms up to 800/900 rpm...

Should be idling at 800, with lights on around 900-1000 depends. Lights off sometimes its acceptable to sit at around 700 but 800 is where it should be.

Cold starts i have seen mine sit at 1500 then as it warms up the revs drop down to around 1000 and slowly down to 800rpm.

About 1600 / 1700 when cold.

About 800 when warm.

That is marginally high when cold........(but still within tollerance)

Spot on when warm

mine sometimes on really cold morning can go up to around the same, but it does drop down.

Kintung your idle when warm fully should be sitting at 800, 1100 is high....check your throttle body to make sure it is adjusted correctly.

Cold - 1600Rpm

Warm - 800Rpm

All seem to be pretty consistent

i'd be more concerned at a higher/ lower Idle when the engine is at optimum temperature

agreed, the idle is set by the ECU, i have a manual at home somewhere where it says it should sit at 800rpm when warm. Obviously load on the alternator etc effects it a bit

nick, 700-800 is fine, depends whats running usually with no load on the alternator the idle drops a bit. As long as its not jumping up and down like crazy your fine. A little bit of the rev going up and down is ok but if its jumping from 800-1300 then its not good.
