Hi, I`m a new member and seking help with a couple of problems with my 1997 Hilux pick up. It`s done 145,000 trouble free miles but has developed a couple of niggerly problems. Any help solving them would be appreciated.

The tick over changes from time to time and gors from normal to very fast. I`ve oiled the linkages and they seem to work perfectly.

My othe problem is the dash symbols start to pulse in a rhythmic fashion. I can stop it by putting my foot on the brake. Possibly soleniod? I`ve taken to a garage but the problem disappears before a diagnosis can be made.
