Alarm Goes Off When Hosing Under Rear Wheel Arch

Only had the RAV for 3 weeks and so far the alarm has gone off 3 times. Once when replacing the petrol cap after filling up and twice whilst hosing under the rear nearside wheel arch. Is the RAV alarm that sensitive to vibration or is something wrong?

There is a glass breakage sensor on some systems and it lives behind that panel in the boot nearest the fuel filler. I can't find any info on it but it might be adjustable if you contact a dealer. For obvious reasons, info on the security system is hard to come by. If you tap on the glass with a coin it will set the alarm off.

On some 4.3s it is located on the opposite side.

AM`s answer may also solve the mystery of my alarm sounding when hosing under the wheel arches although mine is a 4.2

If you want to check just tap the rear quarter glass with a coin after the system has armed (the red light flashes slowly). Don't break it though!!!

The Glass Break Sensor is stuck to the near side rear wheel arch behind the left hand panel ,try covering it with foam strip. The microwave is adjustable for sensitivity and is either behind the radio fixed to the bar or on a bracket inside the glovebox to the right ,( you need to remove glove box )
