The original is worth it just for the experience (not that I've ever been in one  ) but the H2 is just a repackaged GM SUV :(

I agree there.. its not really a hummer, more its far too practical and econimical  the H1 was not great as a road car tho, despite its huuuuuuuuuge size... you could only seat 4 as the transmision tunnel chops the interior in half for extra ground clearance!

hmm... hard to think of a less practical road car - maybe the Sherman tank?

Anyway the thing that gets me is that the front passenger is a good 2ft away from the driver - no possibilities of any smooching - and then it's the same with the back seat

That would convert the back seats, I suppost, but I think that the gearbox is between the front ones. What the heck ditch that too. :P

It's a pretty cr@ppy offroader. Some entered the Paris Dakar a few years back. I don't remember ever seeing one at the finish  - and that's after being specially prepared :lol:

Give me a LandCruiser any day. I learnt to drive in an FJ60, and as a second car I'd love an FJ40

It's too big & too heavy to be of any use in what anyone would seriously call cross country. They are made for Arizona. Hard flat dry desert. Give it a bit of sand and it bogs down. Give it a bit of mud and it bogs down. Give it a bit of a hill and is slows down. Give it all three and watch the Land Cruisers go past
