Clutch/flywheel Toyota Warranty - Help Please!

Hope someone can help. I have had a Toyota Yaris for 11 years - brilliant car. This year I bought a fully serviced 2003 (53 reg) Rav 4 - last night the clutch gave up on me and I was taken home by a very nice RAC man. The car has done 55507 miles - I have been reading on this site about Toyota's recall / warranty and wonders whether anyone firstly knows if the car would be covered at all for parts whilst in repair and secondly how much estimated this would all cost? The warranty in the manual says 3yrs/60,000 miles whichever comes first but on this site it has been shown that Toyota extended this (without purchasing an extended warranty) to 80,000..... all answers appreciated. Thanks, Sarah

Hi Sarah, sorry to hear about your problems :(

The warranty was extended on the clutch/flywheel to 80,000 miles or 5 years, so as such, the warranty extension has run out.

The repair cost depends on where you get the car repaired and whether you buy the parts yourself. Prices seem to range from £800-£1500 depending on these factors.

Did you get a warranty with the car when you bought it?

Thanks Duncerduncs

I didnt take out an extended warranty when I bought the car. It had been serviced fully by a Toyota Dealer. When I got it this March, i also took it straight for a service - everything fine then! I did think that the warranty had run out...but was hoping that having only done 55,000 miles it just might be covered. Buying the parts first then taking them to the garage seems a brill idea but I have no idea what i need ! I think the garage might need to do that. I have faith in the garage they have serviced my Yaris for the past 11 years - my daughter now drives it and I have to say its an amazing car! Thanks for the quote..I know they are rough idea and I appreciate that there will be a hefty labour charge on top - its so disappointing, only having had the car of my dreams for three months! Ho hum.
