Problem With Power!

Hi, I am new to this. I bought an avensis verso and love the space inside the car and loved the car for the first 3 months BUT then started to suddenly lose power at odd times - especially wwhen changing gear or pulling out of a junction - not good!!! I never completely stopped or stalled. My garage says the computer syas that there is othing wrong with the car as far as it is concerned. Has anyone else had this problem? It is a 2003 verso. Hopefully some one might have a clue..otherwise I have to change some things until they find out what is wrong - sounds expensive to me!! Thanks - Lynn
