Gps/stereo Resetting Itself Frequently

plumas

Recommended Posts

Avensis t-Spirit, 2.3DTI 2007.

After driving for a while the built in stereo/GPS (flippable screen with a map CD drive and an MP3 CD drive behind the screen) resets itself and comes back up after a second or so. Something is fishy with the electronics or some sort of heat sensor that is rebooting it.

Any ideas of what this is caused by? The car is still under warranty and the local Toyota garage couldn't reproduce the problem (happens once or twice a day when doing about 2 hours of driving per day) so no help there.

Cheers,

P

This sounds like a power supply problem eg loose wire, faulty connection or loose fuse. The symptons that you describe seem to be what happens when the ignition is switched to Acc or on.
