Notchy Avensis gearbox

hi all, im using an avensis for a while whilst my supra is off the road.. but the gearbox is very 'notchy' when shifting.. are they all like this? I know redline MT90 can help with notchy gearboxes, and im thinking of trying this.. any opinions? cheers adi
