T-Sport Mods

Hi all, I have recently got a 2004 T-sport and I am interested to see what mods other people have done with theirs. My T-sport has had Xneon lights added but that is all. I am thinking of changing the alloys on mine as the standard ones let the car down a little in my opinon. Im thinking of adding an induction kit in the future.

I am interested to see what others think.......

Welcome to the club.

If you take a quick look in the Corolla forums you will find many threads about the main mods people carry out on these. ;)

Handling:

*TTE Strut Brace Front and Back, this tightens the chassis up to stop body roll which is quite a problem with these.

*Lowering Springs or Coilovers, springs are a must have again to reduce body-roll and also to help it corner faster and smoother. Coilovers are better for going very low because they dampers are made to cope with the stress better.

Engine:

*Air Filters, the most popular are the K&N Typhoon and the Apexi, the Blitz SUS is making more of a show on CCUK. The Typhoon is though to sound better than the Apexi but you will need to extend your MAF (Mass Air Flow) wires or they will snap. You can get an extender of solder them yourself, your choice. The Typhoon has a smoother intake tube than the Apexi which is another reason to go Typhoon, however the Apexi is easier to fit and doesn't use an Oiled Filter element like the Typhoon does.

*TTE exhaust, this is only a back box and is really quite expensive, however it had given proven gains and the sound isn't too much whilst still giving a nicer bassy rumble at low RPM. Many people have converted to full custom systems which do the job but make sure you get the correct diameter tubing.

The Typhoon and TTE get you from 190BHP to 200BHP and this has been proven on dyno graphs.

Visual:

*Wind deflectors, cheap and they look good to some people.

*Wheels, your choice, you can go lightweight to improve handling

*Tyres, these are a must have with the CTS and you will find that many use TR1 Prox's I have budget tyres and they are pants. Avoid.

*Tail lights, some of these need some bodging to fit, a rarity round here.

*TTE Front Bumper, these only fit the FL version but you can put them in an PFL with the Tear Drop Lights, bonnet and brackets.

Braking:

*Front Pads, some people here will stand by Ferodo DS2000 pads with drilled/grooved discs off eBay. These pads are expensive though!

*One member that I know of has HEL Braided Brake Lines and another has BD's, they basically sharpen up your braking and look mint under the car.

I think that just about covers it. This is my dads, but I say it's mine for the sake of ease:

It is lowered on coilovers by roughly 45mm (60mm to a PFL because the FL is 15mm lower) with ROTA Slip alloys and Red Anodised nuts. A Bee-Sting Ariel is on the roof and the engine has only a Typhoon fitted along with a Blitz Radiator Cap.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, I like what you have done! Im thinking of changing alloys first, its a shame the T-Sport doesnt come with bigger ones as I think it lets the look of the car down a little.

Ill have a look through the forums and thanks for taking the time to reply

It's no problem mate, I'm here to help. :D

There are a good few projects going on from a few members with the E12 Corolla so you should get some good ideas.

Yeh I agree about the wheels, nice design but to small, although this does keep it to be a true sleeper car.
