Celica GT-Four Light comes on when my road speed exceeds about 80MPH,

Toyota garage say that there are no codes stored in the system so they can't say what is the cause

(could be they are not looking at this correctly)perhaps I should drive the car until light comes on then go immediately to Toyota dealer for them to test.

Anyone have any ideas as to what might be the cause?

why not test for codes yourself , its easy enough .
