My Avensis T180 D is 4 years old. I have just replaced the 6th tyre. 2 have been punctured, 1 aneurism, 1 severely worn where tread meets wall and 2 kerb bumps. This is proving to be very expensive as I've only done 15,000 miles.

Punctures are unfortunate and usually unavoidable and when the tyre is not repairable it can be expensive. However the aneurism is indicative of ill use and the tread wear could be misaligned tracking due to kerb bumps. I would suggest that you get the tracking checked and take more care when driving to avoid kerbing the wheels.

You're very unlucky with your tyres, if you a local Quick Fit i'm sure if you buy the tyres from them they offer a insurance covering the tyres! Might be worth looking into.
