Problem Wash/wipe Avensis

Hi there. Am a new boy to this club.I have a Toyota Avensis 04 1.8 saloon (?). The wash wipe has packed up front and rear. The wipers work but the pump for the water does not run. Have checked tank, jets and fuses all seem fine. Odd that neither front nor rear seem to function. Any clues?

I found this club by googling "How remove glove-box in Avensis" as I wanted to access the fuses there. Brilliant!

Any fluid on ground near washer tank, if so your hose may have become free hence no feed.

Thanks Pat2.

Would I not be able to still hear the motor whining though?

Hi,

This Forum contains a wealth of information, and has an excellent "Search" function.

Searching for "Avensis washer pump" reveiled this thread:

http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=103658

It describes your problem and how to fix it.

I've seen other topics, where the pumps break during severe winters when the bottle freezes solid due to insufficient antifreeze mixture.

The ice may knacker the pump as well.

Many thanks, Thermal.

Will follow advice on that thread.
