Gen 6 Reliabily Vs Gen 7 Question

Hi guys, need your help to make a decision. I'v owned my trusty Gen 6 Celica GT for many years now and it's been fantastic I brought a Yaris T-sport to drive to and from work but the gearbox has just blown so back to my trusty old Celica again! Now, do i spend £1500 on my current celica and give the brakes, cluch etc an overhaul as its starting to show its age or do i spend £3000 on a Gen 7 celica? Are the Gen 7's known for there reliabily as the Gen 6's? Just dont want to swop the yaris for a Gen 7 to have that blow up like the others o!!
