Right, work on the basis that im an idiot who is trying to go some way to learning and DIYing my 1 month purchased Celica which i love!

I have removed the 86120-42061 unit which has never worked i have bought a Sony Mex BT2800 with adapter

The adapters seem to fit two parts of the car installed wiring and into the new stero. Yet no action. My research (if u can call it that) seems to state this is all i need - it leaves over two heads unused within the car and two jacks in the back of the stereo (jacks white and red typical of speakers)Am i missing something or is the wiring i have sufficent???? im wondering if the internal wiring has a fault and not the stereo as orignally diagnosed by those over=priced unhelpful people of RRG Toyota Salford - i can get pics if my description makes no sense - anyone willing to help an idiot will get a friend for life FACT!

I am also new to the Celica but have just replaced the factory HU with a Pioneer. I was also left with two unused block connectors which I assume are for the active subwoofer in the boot. However, my replacement HU works fine with just the two standard ISO connectors, apart from no subwoofer. So I suspect you have the right wiring.

Did your factory HU power up, what were the symptoms that caused you to change?

Maybe you should try posting on the audio forum futher down the home page.
