Grinding Urgent Please Help

I picked up my 56 reg Avensis 2.2 T3-x today with 69k, all went fine on the test drive and i was well chuffed. Untill later totay i went from 2nd to 3rd and i got an unusual grinding feeling in the clutch. It only done it once and went away. Just a bit worried i have a big problem on the way.

Is it a diesel?

I'd normally associate the grinding with dual mass flywheel failure. I know it was a sympton on Ford diesels, but I'm not sure about Toyota's.
