Hi

just a quick question i bought a Rav 4 VX auto today for my wife to use through the winter. im hoping someone can help with a couple of questions,

the stereo in the car is a standard toyota stereo with the multi function display, however i cant locate the Cd multi changer where would that be fitted (if there is one) when you press the CD button it says Cd ERROR 2

secondly is there anywhere apart from toyota to get a spare key for the car any advice would be greatly appreciated

Ash

Ash,

If fitted the same as wifey's, multichanger would be under passenger seat. "cd err" message just means there is no CD in the dashboard unit itself, or the multichanger. Is there no CD slot in the fascia of your dash-mounted unit? Sorry if that sounds a daft question, as our "Granite" unit takes CD's along with the multichanger.

hi Kev

thanks for your reply. no its a tapeplayer on the dash and i've looked under the seat nothing there at all. its mind boggling as i always thought they were under the seat too and fitted as standard too on the VX

i got a funny feeling it may have been removed then, saying that there is no wiring under there its a 2002 model so would have thought it would have been fitted

EUREKA!!! Found it for some reason it's been fitted into the boot inside the driver side plastic casing. God only knows why but at least I can listen to my music now. Thanks for all the feedback guys

Good on ya Yaris....just hope you're right, and don't start feeding CD's into what sounds like the obvious position to put a First Aid kit..... :yahoo:

As standard fitments, these should be under the passenger seat.... I believe they also fitted the satnav cd changer in the boot??? as some have this as well as an extra....

If the one in the boot has a removable cd cartridge to load 6 disc then this is the cd changer..... just seems an odd place to put this....

I have an iPhone tape adapter for my iPhone now... so not only have the 6 cd's to play with but also the 100s of songs on the iPhone as well.......

The iPhone adapter is the tape sort... As my car is from 2002 vintage it still has this fitted (i've never played a music tape in it all the years I've owned it :unsure: ) so simplicity is I just connect the lead to the headphone socket on iPhone and then push tape in player... Simples.... And when my daughter gets in the car she likes to plug in her phone and play her music :blink:
