Hi,

Just wondering does the ELM 327 also remove the fault code?

Means if the engine light is on, can you turn it off with the help of it and provided software?

I am thinking of getting one of these:

ELM 327

or

U 480

Which one is better?

Thanks.

I use a bluetooth Elm 327 and it reads and clears fault codes when i use it with my mobile phone.

I would imagine it should do the same if used with a laptop.

Davey Dont you need the software for BT ELM 327 on your phone to read codes?

I bought one with BT and it works fine with my laptop.

It shows fault code (nil on my car), no freezing screen, or no other data.

However I can do live monitoring, such as RPM, EGR valve pressure and many other things.

What other things you can monitor with ELM 327?

What computer software is best to use with it (any geek)?

Davey what software you get on your phone to work with ELM 327?

I tried to check O2 sensors and it gave no output? Is it normal? Well does D4D have 1?

Cheers.

Hi,

I got the ScanTool.net version 1.13 running on a Window 7 64 bit laptop. It took two things, get the latest driver from :- http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm and used the VCP drivers. I adh to use device manager ot rename the com posrt from com25 to com2 , set the baud rate to 38400 and happy days it worked.

Cheers
