Engine Ringing/bell Noise

Hi Guys.

Just picked up a 1990 Celica GT4 turbo 4wd.

After driving it for a couple of days I noticed a strange bell like noise.

This noise only stops when I accelerate.

I took it to my mechanic and he reckons it is a leak somewhere, but said it was like finding a needle in a haystack. Not much help :(

He also told me that the turbo doesn't seem to be working that well. (it has the CT26 turbo)

Not sure if the two may be related.

Any ideas/ suggestions?

I am new to the turbo world so sorry for my ignorance.

Cheers,

Kreuz :help:

if you have an air leak then the car wont be running well as its air flow meterd any leak will affect running.

common pipes that split are the one from the air filter to turbo, turbo to intercooler.

other than that check all the small vacuum lines.
