Can anybody help? I wish to go skiing in February, on checking my Avensis tourer (2007) it says that 215x50 x17 tyres cannot have chains on them. Is this the case? Can any chain be used on these tyres.

Never realised there was hills in Lincoln but good luck!

You would be able to fit socks on the car - better for ice of course/

Try posting this question in the Avensis section.

And maybe its the clearance of the bodywork on lock thats the problem?? So a lower ratio tyre might be an answer...or a set of winter wheels and tyres.
