Toyota Dealers + Servicing

Just wanted to flag up that it is really nice to be treated with respect and like a real human being when going to my local-ish (easiest to get to) Mr T. dealer and talking to both the parts and servicing folk. I won't mention names as I wouldn't want anyone to think this is a put-up job.

I've driven SEAT Leon's (x 3) for the past 9 or so years and although I found the cars great, the same could not be said about the dealer network and in particular some of the parts / service departments - at least the one's I've dealt with. Also the servicing prices are getting a little silly at SEAT.

Popped into my local Mr. T dealers t'other day for some bits and bobs, and to get a new key programmed and was amazed by the very courteous, friendly and professional way I was treated. Everything was explained to me and time was spent on *me* - I was used to just getting sheets of paper slapped on the worktop and my money taken: bye bye. I'm new to RAV4 ownership and this is my 1st Mr T., though the wife has had a Yaris for 7 years. Mind you, we have had shall we say, "fun & games" with the Mr. T dealers she used to use for servicing and from where we bought the car new (all part of the same Notts / Derby based franchise), so she now uses a local Mr. T independent who is very good and she is much happier with.

Me? Well I'm going back to this nice Mr. T place for my next service. Even the price was a revelation - cheaper than my last Leon FR for the equivalent service even when including the option of having the gearbox oil changed.

Just how it should be and usually is in most cases

The problem with a forum is you generally hear about how everything goes wrong!

Thanks for sharing your experience

Kingo

posted this in anotherthread but it'll fit in fine here too.

"2 1/2 hrs, 6 litres of oil supllied by me & £207 later car is just back from it's 40K service which it flew through with no red or amber advisories, everything in the green (even the brake discs & pads that I was expecting to get an advisory on).

Rear tyres still at 4.0mm.

They did change the brake fluid but that's mandated in the 40K service schedule for my car.

If, as they tell me, that's the most expensive service I can't complain & the dealer (Western Toyota, Sighthill, Edinburgh) was faultless.

Think that it proves again that a good dealer makes all the difference - I drive 40 mile to Edinburgh when I have 3 dealers within 10 miles of me in Glasgow.

Even adding the cost of the diesel there & back it's cheaper as well!"

Actually thinking of dropping the Aftersales Manager a letter telling him how happy I am & to give everyone a pat on the back.

Great to hear of good experiences of main dealerships. It's how they all should be but,as we know,it's not always the case even with the most expensive of vehicles.
