Avensis Trim Fixings

I bought an 08 plated Avensis 2.2 D-4D TR a couple of weeks ago and have discovered that inside the engine compartment a couple of the black plastic fixing screw/ plugs are missing (these secure the front section plastic cover over the Battery from left to right. Also I noticed that in the cover over the Battery there must be a nut fixed rod at the back of the Battery - this is missing. Can these parts be obtained from Toyota dealer or elsewhere?

I also discovered that the bottom of the offside front wheel arch lining has become unclipped from the return section of the lower bumper, but does not seem to clip back into place - is this fixable without replacing too many parts?

Only minor irritating items but would like to get these bits replaced. Thanks for any advice, John

The wheel arch linings become detached by driving the front over high kerbs causing the plastic to lift. There is a hole in the lining that fits onto a peg on the plastic under the front wing. It can be refitted by removing the wheel and some of the screws.

Careful you do not drive the front against any high curbs, it pulls the fixings for the engine under covers when you reverse off. It just cost me £400 to have the 2 replaces (RH & LH)

Blimey - might have been the previous owner??? Will have a closer look and see whats going on under the car. Hopefully I can just clip it back together, £400 is a bit steep! John

Thanks Kev - taking my Avensis to the main dealer to get the headlamp fixed (internal condensation which I hope is a warranty issue) They have ordered some fixing screws, about 50p each from the Toyota dealer. Will check out the link, see what's available. John

Checked out the link to Tool-Supplies which is very interesting - they only seem to sell these fixing in large packs, so they cost anything from about £20, I only need two! However, they are based in Swindon which is only 15 miles from were I live - might take a trip to their store see if they sell these fixings in small quantities. I mentioned in another posting that the Toyota dealer was going to get a couple for me. Thanks, John

I had the same, the dealer tried to charge £300 odd quid for a new light unit, I found that somebody had not replaced the rubber boot on the back of the light when changing the bulb, replaced and condensation went away, bry
