Oxygen Sensor Fault?

Hi I have a 2001 avensis GS VVTI 1.8.Three weeks ago it develpoed an oxygen sensor fault (fault code PO155 Oxygen sensor circuit malfunction bank 2 sensor 1).I replaced the passenger side sensor under advisement of some guys on here who have been very helpful. The engine management light is still on and displaying the same code regardless of how many times the ecu is reset.I have checked all electrical connections and earths and they are fine, i have also purged the catalytic converter several times just to be sure it wasnt that and nothing has worked. However if i park the car on a steep hill with its nose down, turn it off then on again the light goes out for various periods of time. I am totally confused as to what this may be caused by and other than moving house to live on a steep hill i have no idea as to how to correct this problem or even work out what the problem may be caused by. I would be grateful for any ideas as i am at my wits end with this annoying problem. Thanks, Scott.

Hi Scott

Fortunately for me, the light has stayed off since I changed the one on my wife's car a couple of weeks back, which had the same fault code. However, from similar experience last year with another car I had, I found that you have to buy a decent oxygen sensor. The first one I bought was a cheap universal one, and it only lasted a week before the fault came back. I then bought a more expensive one from another supplier, and that one was fine for the remainder of the time I owned the car. The one I just fitted was a Denso, which I believe is original fit.
