Avensis Rear Wiper Won't Stop

Hello.I have an older-model Avensis (pre-2002). Today the rear wiper started, and I've been unable to stop it. I ended up removing the arm, but the motor is still running. I tried to find a fuse that would disconnect it but none seemed to work. I can't just disconnect the Battery because I need to use the car. Is there a fuse somewhere - maybe inline - that I can use to disconnect the wiper? Otherwise I'm going to have to cut the wires!

Any help would be much appreciated!

Most wiper motors are earth switched so your problem may be due to a fault in the self-parking mechanism inside the wiper motor.

Reather than cut the cables - why not just disconnect its plug till you get it sorted.:)

issue is not with the earth, but water ingress into the motor housing

you need to remove

dry and silicone the top bung.
