Hi there,

Before i traded in my 2008 RAV4, i took out the Toyota subwoofer, but had to leave the wiring behind, as i was short of time......

As i dont want to make clear to the dealer that i took the sub out, i cant ask him for advise on the following;

I want to put the subwoofer in the new Avensis with TNS510 satnav/audio (coming beginning April), what wiring do i require? does someone know the Toyota partnumbers?

Thank in advance, hope the 1.8 petrol of the Avensis will be better than the 2.2 D-cat of the RAV4

Hi,

Yes, it's fine.

Very smooth and quiet.

And I wouldn't bother about Speakers, since the T27 has an excellent audio system.

Come on guys help me out here, any ideas or suggestions??

Why dont you just use standard wires from stereo to woofer?

Simple is that.

:censor:

Get one from any audio shop and get convertor from normal speaker cables to low frequency signals, fit it with your stereo, fit the wires in and enjoy.

:ffs: Good now.

And if you dont know how to do it, take you car to any stereo shop and they'll fit it for you costing you 70-100 including all the stuff you need.

Lastly if you have some knowledge of DIY then you can try yourself. Get these

A

B

C

Now fit item A to your Speakers outlet from stereo unit, B should be fitted to A (to decrease any humming noise and if you like you can skip it, but later if you get humming noise, you may need one, so better to get one from the start), and Fit C

to B/A (depending on if you are skipping B ) and fit the cables below the carpets / doorside skirts to final destination where you want to have your subwoofer.

2-4 hours jobs, depending on how good are you with this stuff.

If you have a look on Toyota tech docs there is a complete list of fitting instructions and part numbers for the installation of a TNS510 as an accessory to a T27 Avensis. I used the guide to get the part numbers for my iPod leads, it also shows the connectors on the rear of the unit and gives a guide for stripping the dash.
