Hi mate,

the first thing to note before attempting this job is make sure that on removal of the injectors is that you label them or you will have big problems later.

Each injector assembly has a characteristic fuel injecting behavior. The ECM stores compensation codes

which are used to optimize fuel injection for the injectors. When replacing the injector assembly, a compensation

code for the new injector assembly must be set to the ECM.

(Next is where i wish I hadn't replied). Disconnect the Battery neg cable, then with the engine cold (fire risk) and because fuel system is under extreme pressure very slowly loosen one of the pipes on the common rail whilst wearing h/duty rubber gloves and eye protection to release this pressure. If you don't feel confident get a qualified person to help you!

I have attached a drawing of the injectors in relation to the engine, you will need to remove each injector pipe from the common rail and injector, be careful not to deform these pipes. Remove the clamp holding the injector into the head the pull them out marking/label the order of where they came from, you may need a lever to lift them but be extra careful where you lever, again If you don't feel confident get a qualified person to help you!

Hope this helps but be very careful .... Pete.

Hello again, I really don't wish to be rude here but because you have asked that question I really don't think you should attempt this job, get someone to help out with some mechanical knowledge..

Best regards Pete.

Is the D4D a common rail diesel?

If so, I doubt having them cleaned will fix them. They will most likely need refurbishing or replacing. High pressure injectors have a limited life due to the stress they are put under. What mileage is your car on?

Yes it is the common rail..this car has 213,000 miles at the moment.the problem started at around 180,000 miles, run on the motorway is ok,just when i try to speed up,give a heavy accelerate, will see lots of black smokes.runs in the city,in lower gear feel weak power at start moving.sometimes stop at the traffic lights,i feel the car is trembling, i give a bit accelerate then better..i have put a new EGR valve and a new air flow meter on,but the problem still there..someone says the injectors need to be cleaned up..

Thanks for the reply..
